Ashevillage Sanctuary looks forward to hosting the Buckminster Fuller Institute’s (BFI) 2012 Challenge winner, Jason McLennan, during his one night in our fine town. Also here, will be the VP and others from BFI. Together, with Advantage West and the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center, they are putting on a 3-day conference at UNCA’s campus and at the College, September 28th-30th. McLennan, one of the most influential individuals in green building today, is a much sought after consultant on the direction of design and sustainability around the world.

As the CEO of the International Living Future Institute – McLennan also operates the Cascadia Green Building Council, the Pacific Northwest’s leading sustainable development organization and the Living Building Challenge, widely considered the world’s most progressive and stringent green building standards program. His work in the sustainable design has been featured or reviewed in Time Magazine, National Geographic, The New York Times, Architecture, Architectural Record, Dwell, Plenty, Metropolis, and The Globe and Mail among others.

Exploring Buckminster Fuller’s Living Legacy, the conference includes an experiential Design Science Day held outdoors on the UNC Asheville campus, panel discussions, and presentations. Register and find more information here.
