Part of the magic of Ashevillage is all the extraordinary people who work, volunteer, and pass through this community hub. What an inspiring place!Ashevillage Sanctuary guest
Ashevillage is such a beautiful example of all the teachings of permaculture. This is a living example of what’s possible for us to live in harmony with the earth. It’s really inspiring to be here and and to see it put into use and to see the community build something that can be an example for the rest of the world.Workshop Participant
I feel extremely blessed to have had this opportunity. I know I’ve told some people that I feel like this seems like a dream come true, and even though we are strangers I felt like I’ve known everyone for a long time within my soul even though I’ve never met any one of you. It has been a hell of a ride, and I want to continue it.Ellis, Natural Building Workshop Participant
Just as water is the foundation of life, it must also be the foundation of design in the built environment.Betsy Damon, Founder of Keeper of the Waters
Permaculture land-use ethics invite us to protect intact ecosystems where they remain and, where ecosystems have been destroyed, to help restore them. Permaculture design also suggests that we take care of earth while taking care of people.Juliana Birnbaum FoxEvery teacher’s passion made their subject matter feel profound — so much so, that every exemplary compost worm, foraged medicinal weed, and bacteria-filled speck of dirt had a voice too — and they spoke volumes. Ashevillage planted within me the seeds I so desperately needed to help me become a proactive citizen of the world and a mindful friend to the earth.Gracie, Resilient Workshop Participant
In Nature’s economy the currency is not money – it is life.Vandana Shiva
We believe that in order to create the world we want, we must live it now.
As a busy, widowed mother of 3 small children, I always felt too unsure of myself to safely experiment with fermentation and foraging at home. This intensive experience has demystified everything and I cant’ wait t begin feeding more nourishing foods to my family.Jennifer Wilkerson, Food As Medicine Workshop Participant
I have been incorporating fermentation in everything. Just made yogurt cheese to be ready for Friday night’s book club dinner at our house. Everyday I make a new type of dish with some fermentation type of process. I ate a radish salad tonight that I never would have made if not for the class. What I also recall is the fun everyone had, and the good times of being together sharing skills. Good memories.Food As Medicine Workshop Participant
